The history of Beulah House
With its wide flagstone verandah overlooking sweeping lawns and rambling cottage gardens — and picturesque mountain views beyond — Beulah House remains one of Launceston’s most admired heritage homes. Built with convict labour, it continues to embody the character and grace of Tasmania’s Georgian era, cherished for its architecture and rich story.
Restoring Beulah: a two-year labour of love.
From May 2022, current custodians Bec and David undertook an extensive two-year heritage restoration of Beulah House, preserving its original structure and character while enhancing comfort and functionality. Every detail, from soaring ceilings and cedar joinery to ornate fireplaces, was restored with care.
The addition of modern amenities, thoughtfully integrated to honour the home’s architectural heritage, has transformed Beulah into a luxury accommodation experience in Northern Tasmania — a place where history and contemporary design live side by side.
